The headboard is a very useful piece of furniture that attaches easily to the head of the bed. Headboards retain the pillows and very often provide a comfortable and secure backing to the bed upon which to lean and relax. Furthermore they also provide a decorative theme and focus for the bed and the room as a whole. Headboards may also be used to provide a wide variety of other functions. These include storage provision the attachment of various sexual conveniences or incorporation into the medical care functions required for the bed of a patient.
Maybe you already have a complete master bedroom furniture suite or youre contemplating a house-move or perhaps you just fancy adding some warmth and heart back into your existing bedroom. I can only encourage you to think big - even for a tiny bedroom.
In todays modern times when we live in better heated and better insulated buildings the function of a headboard has changed. Nowadays headboards are used to hold the Pillows or bed linens. The headboard can perform a variety of functions. It can be used for simple storage. You can use the headboard to hold pillows and bed linens or you can design it to contain a bookshelf and keep a few books or other items on it. The headboard also performs a number of comfort functions. When you are watching TV or reading a book you can sit up and lean against the headboard. Headboards can be very comfortable and may be accompanied by a spragging board at the foot of the bed. The spragging board can also be used for storage or to provide comfort for the feet.
